Christmas is celebrated with a public holiday in the Bahamas every 25 December.

This holiday season is observed by people attending church services, family gatherings and feats, carolling, exchanging gifts and cards, with Santa Claus appearances, and in many ways it’s observed throughout the world.
But there are also special festivals and carnivals like the Junkanoo Festival that takes place on the day after Christmas. There is a tree-lighting ceremony every year in Nassau’s Pompey Square. And there are many concerts, parties, and other special events throughout the season.
Also, many tourists come to Bahamas for shopping and dining during the Yuletide. And going to the beach to swim and barbecue or picnic is also a major Christmas traditions here in Bahamas.
