Ascension Day 2024, 2025 and 2026 in Saint Barthélemy
Ascension Day is a holiday in Saint Barthélemy to commemorate Jesus Christ’s ascension to heaven as recorded in the Bible. It is observed on the fortieth day of Easter – 39 days after Easter Sunday – and always fall on a Thursday.

Special church services, especially among Catholics and Anglicans, are one of the major aspects of the holiday. The accounts from the Bible of Jesus instructing his watching followers to evangelise the world as he arose out of view behind a cloud will be read and preached on. The Paschal candle will also be put out in some churches.
Saint Bart’s beaches are too good to resist when you have several consecutive days off work or school, so it’s not surprising they crowd up. Many stay at home and just do house chores or some gardening work, however. And many tourists arrive at Saint Barthélemy for a quick getaway.
