Anguilla does Easter in a unique and “big” way with public holidays provided on Good Friday and Easter Monday as part of the celebrations.

The main event Easter Weekend in Anguilla that draws both locals and foreign tourists every year is the Festival del Mar. People gather at Island Harbour on the east end of the island to watch a colourful, exciting sailboat race.
You can also take time to eat johnny cakes at “breakfast tents”, grill sea-fresh lobsters, play games, enjoy local music, and (sometimes) stay up for all-night entertainment on the beach.
Church services are also well attended during Holy Week to remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. And, of course, many choose to simply pass the Easter long weekend at home with family and friends.
